Apples and Snakes Presents is a monthly night at The Plough revolving around some of the best spoken word shows currently touring. As well as the show there’s the opportunity to participate in an open mic and a Q&A with the artist.

All are welcome. Bring something of your own to perform, or something by anyone else you happen to like. If you don’t feel like opening your mouth lend us your ears. The open mic is a 30 minute sharing of words and ideas- we’ll see where it takes us. 10 spaces available- a partnership with Open Mouth! Open Mouth poetry and music group meet every second Thursday at the Plough Arts Centre. For more information or encouragement call Bryony on 01271 344400 or e-mail gina@applesandsnakes.org

This month’s show is performed by stand-up poet Dan Simpson (Glastonbury Festival, Canterbury Laureate) and focuses his high-speed fuzzy logic on the screens and machines that rule over our lives. As the robots rise and deep learning AIs threaten to take over the world, can humanity survive in a world of cutting-edge technology? An electric show of computer generated jokes, emoji poetry and selfie stick performance from BBC Fringe Slam finalist Dan Simpson.
