Apples and Snakes, England’s leading spoken word organisation, is celebrating it’s 35th anniversary this year.

Here’s an opportunity to meet the Apples and Snakes South East Producer, Pete Hunter, learn about what Apples and Snakes do and to ask Pete questions.

Apples and Snakes is an Arts Council funded Nationwide spoken word organisation whose mission is to bring performance poetry to new audiences, to create opportunities and support spoken word artists and champion voices that might otherwise go unnoticed. As well as putting on events, the organisation runs workshops and masterclasses, creates networks and supports artists.

There are Apples and Snakes Producers working in the North, the Midlands, the South West, the South East and London.

The South East Producer, Pete Hunter, is based at Nuffield Theatre, Southampton, but has helped support artists and run events and workshops across the region (from Hampshire to Norfolk) including Southampton, Portsmouth, Brighton, Oxford, Cambridge, Canterbury, Margate, Folkestone, Guildford, Norfolk and Ipswich. Pete has worked on projects with both individual artists and organisations.
