Poet, Simon Mole is taking over our Sunday Stories slot with a spoken word special! Expect poems about ninja skeletons, raps about pug dogs playing football, stories about boys who meet Pacman and girls who can’t stop drumming. Gecko is a North London based artist. He has previously appeared at Glastonbury, Bestival & BBC Radio 1. He’s shared stages with the likes of Josie Long, Robin Ince, John Hegley, Beans on Toast & Billy Bragg. He returned to the Edinburgh Fringe this year with his second hour ‘No Rest for the Lizard’ and will release his debut album ‘Volcano’ this Autumn.

Simon Mole was the first Poet Laureate for the London borough of Brent, and is a member of the acclaimed poetry collective Chill Pill. Since becoming a father Simon has written increasingly for young people, and his first play for children and families was commissioned by the V&A in 2016; ‘Friends For All’ is touring with Half Moon Theatre.
