New announcement: We are delighted that the amazing Jean Binta Breeze will also share a little something from Jamaica to get the conversation flowing.
To mark the end of International Women’s Month, our first Gathering will discuss the woman’s voice in the performance poetry and literary world. What does it sound like? What is the experience like?
We will look at the intergenerational timeline of women poets, and the path they carved in the spoken word scene. We will also ask questions about what support, artist development and what sustainability looks like for women in radical spaces and on literature non-conventional platforms.
Guests include:
- Khadijah Ibrahiim
- Nicole May
- Kate Fox
- Shareefa Energy
- Joelle Taylor
- Jean Binta Breeze
This conversation is open for all. You are welcome to join in with the discussion or you can just listen along if that’s your vibe on the day. We hope to see you there!
This is the first event in The Gatherings series. Two further events will be held, one every fortnight. Each even has a different artistic focus. We invite you to join each session and look forward to seeing you there – albeit online!
