Join Apples and Snakes for a super special FORKED in celebration of National Poetry Day!

We welcome two headline acts plus a selection of speed date style workshops to get your poetry paws into. Join Rosy Carrick and Alexander Rhodes for 30 minute power workshops followed by Artists talks and Q&A. Subjects will range from publishing, performance and writing tips to setting up and getting tech savvy.

Rosy Carrick
Quick-witted, charismatic and full to the brim with surreal and disgusting imagination, Rosy Carrick’s eccentric style, dense rhyme structures and forceful imagery have won her international acclaim, as well as firmly cementing her place as one of the UK’s most unusual and exciting contemporary poets.

James Turner
Poet and retired unqualified library assistant, James Turner is a former Exeter Slam Campion. He has published two collections of poetry Forgeries (Original Plus) and A Chance of Love: Sonnets of Two Decades (Oversteps Books)

Biby Barclay
A home-educated, spoken word artist and poet based in Cornwall, Biby Barclay is currently working on several multi-media projects with local artists, D.Js, and musicians. She has performed at Holifair, Roots festival, Glas-Denbury Festival and the Poly Theatre in Falmouth, and has been known to perform with the electric cellist Oak Matthias under the pseudonym SteamPhunk And The Reluctant Cellist. 

Unfortunately Deanna Rodger is unable to make it, as previously advertised, but we’re excited to welcome Lucy Lepchani who will also be performing.
