BODACIOUS is Leicester’s newest Poetry Spoken Word & Open Mic event for Poets/Spoken Word Artists to ‘strut their stuff ‘from a city, that lives, breathes top notch poetry across the board, BODACIOUS encourages Poets/Spoken Word Artists, Rappers, to be brave, to offer their most bold, scandalous, exciting, intimate, sensual, radical and daring lyrics. At the launch a month ago, here was a large, very culturally diverse range of Poets /Spoken Word Artists as well as audience members. OMI Bar venue is located in the heart of the centre of Leicester, It is run by brother Michael & Tham both poetry lovers. Their beautiful venue offers, a welcoming warm, cosy, attractive space, With reasonably priced, delicious Meals,, Cake, Teas Coffees & Bar Drinks. Some notable Poets/Spoken Word Artists that. have performed at BODACIOUS these include: Bobba Cass, Davina Songbird (Nottingham) Lesley Modinos, Scott Coe (Stamford Lincoln) Steve Cartwright Some upcoming poets include Valerie Walbrook, Carolyn Turner and Aaron.

BODACIOUS differs from other Poetry/Spoken Word events. In that it takes place on a Sunday afternoon, seeks to creates a warm safe space for Poets/spoken Word Artists, to share work they, wouldn’t normally. Due to the subject matter, topic or themes. It was felt there was a need for an adult focused day time. BODACIOUS Poetry Sundays OMI BAR feeds a growing appetite for great poetry in our city!
