Shaded Writers Workshops

Shaded Writers Collective is a collaboration between Speak the Word, The Open Minds Project & Flourish. 

Shaded Writers emerged from a need for a writers collective which offers regular, supportive, accessible space held for QTIPOC voices & stories.

Our spaces are made to be nurturing and supportive and we hope that this new community will increase the confidence of aspiring writers who may have reduced access to opportunities due to financial  restrictions, language barriers or access to materials.

Shaded Writers is a space for QTIBPOC, co-founded by:

PJ Samuels (they/them) poet, activist, educator, & co-founder of the writing community Speak The Word. Tara Singh (they/them) – poet & experienced facilitator of QTIBPOC writing & community-care spaces. Adam Lowe (he/him, mostly)- award-winning writer, educator & publisher from Peepal Tree Press with 21 years’ experience mentoring & supporting marginalised writers.
