Scratch Tyne

Apples and Snakes’ longest-running artist development programme in the North-East.

From beginners looking for a confidence boost before their first open mic night, to experienced performers asking for honest feedback as they experiment with new work, Scratch Tyne is open to everyone.

Co-hosted by Sky Hawkins and Rowan McCabe, the format is simple: warm up together, explore a new performance technique together, then share work and give helpful feedback.

Want to set up your own scratch night? Here’s a free guide of tips and exercises from Scratch Tyne founder and North Producer, Kirsten. For more information, please email kirsten@applesandsnakes.org.

Please note:

For July’s Scratch Tyne we’ll be taking a workshop trip, keep an eye out for details closer to the time…

We’ll be taking a summer break in August 2019 but will return in September at a new venue: Space Six.
