Join some of the country’s top poets and performers for a free monthly poetry event.

Bright Smoke is a poetry night with a difference. Live and entertaining, creative and raw, with an opportunity to take to the stage and share your own work.

Join some of the country’s top poets and performers as they explore a different theme each month, inspired by current RSC productions. Bright Smoke brings together writing and performance to explore the topical and the transcendent, the entertaining and the cathartic.

With a headline set from Emma Purshouse, supported by Karishma Sangtani.

Hosted by Joe Cook.

Share your own work on the open mic – slots are allocated on the night, and can be signed up for on the door. The work you share doesn’t have to be related to the theme of the evening. Performances will take place from 7.30pm in Susie’s Cafe Bar, located on the ground floor foyer of The Other Place.

Please note that performers’ work may contain strong language and adult themes.

Bright Smoke is a collaboration with RSC.
