Social Photography Project

I’m currently working on a personal photography project that aims to capture a cross-section of individuals or groups along the Meridian line. The core idea behind this project is to find a selection of people who are geographically connected to the Greenwich Meridian. These individuals could be those who live, work, or socialize in a building that is situated on the Meridian. My goal is to tell their stories and histories, highlighting the social, economic, cultural, religious, political, and generational differences between them.

My intention for the project is to photograph and interview a cross section of people and then work with a poet on the interviews. I’d like to create individual poems for each portrait as a kind of visual representation of the person being portrayed and a record of their story. This would sit along side the photography in an exhibition or digitally, depending on where the images are displayed.

I’ve started talking about this project with an individual who works on audio descriptions for galleries and we talked about the lack of creativity when it comes to audio descriptions and how galleries are trying to inject more creativity into this area.

At the moment this is purely a passion project and I’m looking to collaborate on that basis, however I’m also trying to secure some funding to help.

If you're in collaborating on this project, please contact me.
