Multiple slam champion and Poetic Theatre Makers alumni Jasmine Gardosi reads from her debut pamphlet
Jasmine Gardosi is a former Birmingham Poet Laureate finalist and BBC Slam finalist. A previous BBC Arts Young Creative and Poet in Residence for the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust, she has appeared across BBC Radio and at Glastonbury Festival.
Her work was featured globally by Standard Chartered for their International Women’s Day campaign, and through Button Poetry, after receiving an Honorable Mention for Outstanding International Entry in the 2018 Button Poetry Video Contest.
A Ledbury Poetry Festival trustee, she runs West Midlands Poets’ Place (supported by Apples and Snakes) and other school and community workshops, CPD for teachers, and specialist sessions on LGBTQ issues. She also co-facilitates the Hippodrome Young Poets collective alongside Jacob Sam-La Rose.
The sexual health show she co-created with Autin Dance Theatre is in its fourth year of development and touring, and in December 2018 she completed a residency at the Royal Court Theatre, London as part of Apples and Snakes’ Poetic Theatre Makers programme. Her debut pamphlet Hurtz was published in May by Verve Poetry Press.
Jasmine will read from her work, followed by a Q & A and book signing.
