BBC Words First showcases selected talent from the 2023 cohort, with workshop support from Apples and Snakes and Young Identity.
Congratulations to the eight selected to perform: Spoken2Life, Nosa, Lisa O’Hare, Harley Truslove, Anisa Butt, Nigreen Dara, Anna Antoniades and Jed Wright.
Part of BBC Contains Strong Language. Now in its 7th year, the 2023 festival showcases established and renowned poets such as Lemn Sissay OBE, Malika Booker, National Poet of Wales Hanan Issa and Owen Sheers; as well as giving a platform to emerging artists from Yorkshire, across the UK and beyond. The festival runs from 21-24 September in Leeds.
