Pride month may be over for another year but we aren’t done yet. If you are an LGBTQ+ poet based in London, that would like to spend some time with other LGBTQ+ poets based in London, working on perfecting your performance skills for that one poem about your experiences as an LGBTQ+ person (based in London, maybe?), then this is the workshop for you.

Led by Nick Field, WorldPride Poet in Residence, this workshop will provide you with some tips, tricks and hacks for all of your performance needs. 

Bring along a poem that you would like to work with to explore developing your performance skills and ideas further. 

This session will be in person at The Albany in the Apples and Snakes Offices

  • The event will start at 2:00pm, we will open the room at 1:50pm.
  • This workshop is for, you guessed it, LGBTQ+ poets based in London.
  • This workshop is free
  • It is limited to a capacity of 12 and will be available on a first come, first serve basis.

About Nick

Nick Field is a cross-disciplinary artist working with text, performance and visual mediums. He is particularly interested in rituals of human connection, the shapes and specifics of communities, and the cultural body. His work has included making & touring performance pieces internationally, digital works and poetry collections.

Nick has held extensive commissions and residencies, including as Artist in Residence with WorldPride Malmö in 2021, City of London, Keats House, and London Metropolitan Archives. He has worked with arts organisations including Spread The Word and Ovalhouse as Associate Artist.

He has facilitated workshops, masterclasses and mentored for organisations including Apples and Snakes, The Southbank Centre and IdeasTap. His work with emerging artists has also included creating and running development programmes. He has lectured in Theatre and Performance for Queen Mary, University of London and Kingston University. ​
