Free ecopoetry workshop & open mic for 14-25s
Free workshop alert! On Saturday 18 January, Young Poets Network is running a free writing workshop for 14-25 year olds, followed by a Young Poets Takeover open mic over Zoom.
Participants will be guided through a series of generative writing prompts related to the Earthlings, Building challenge on Young Poets Network. This workshop will be led by poet Caleb Parkin, who will also be judging the challenge.
We encourage you to keep editing your work and submit it to Earthlings, Building challenge on Young Poets Network, which is free and open to enter until 26 January. Winners will be published on Young Poets Network and sent goodies such as poetry ebooks, book tokens, and posters. Selected poets will also be offered mentoring sessions as part of their prize.
After a short break, participants will be invited to hear sets from recent Young Poets Network winners and share their own work on the open mic for up to two minutes. We are celebrating young voices – so if you want to hear from the up-and-coming stars of the poetry world, come along!
Open mic slots are two minutes long and allocated on a first-come, first-serve basis: if you can no longer attend the online event, please email [email protected] as soon as possible.
