Word-Benders – QTBPOC online poetry workshop

Calling all QTBPOC poetry lovers! Join Gayathiri Kamalakanthan for WORD-BENDERS on Tuesday 17th December, 6.30-8pm (GMT) for a poetry workshop centering trans and queer poets of colour.

This session will be a dedicated space for queer Black people and people of colour & will include BSL interpretation.

If you're new to WORD-BENDERS here's what we do:

✨ WORD-BENDERS is a monthly poetry workshop centering the work of trans and queer poets of colour.

✨ We'll read/ reflect on / discuss 2-3 poems, then do some gentle free-writing based on our discussion.

✨ The Zoom will be a relaxed space, with BSL interpretation.

About the facilitator: Gayathiri (they/them) is a Tamil poet and performer. They won the Disabled Poets Prize 2024 and they’re an alum of the Southbank New Poets Collective. Their novel-in-verse, Bad Queer, is forthcoming with Faber. Find them at gayathiri.co.uk
