Postcard Connect is a children’s art project inviting them to say hello and connect with people by creating a postcard and sending it to friends and family to let them know you are thinking of them. Postcards are a lovely surprise for someone to receive and keep forever!

The project aims to encourage children to take notice of the world around them and celebrate the little moments of their everyday life and share how they feel.

How can you get involved?

Start off by watching this video that will give you lots of ideas and help explain what to do:

Step 1 Please collect your free blank postcards and your instruction sheet from Idea Store Whitechapel, Canary Wharf or Bow from 7th June. Packs are limited so please come early!

Step 2 You will need to make sure you have these materials at home:

  • Pencil
  • Paint, Felt tips or Colouring pencils
  • Postage stamps (if you would like to post your postcards to anyone)

Step 3 Watch our specially made videos with artist Meng Ni Beh showing you lots of brilliant ideas on how to make some fantastic postcards. (These videos are available on the Idea Store website. Please visit their site to watch these)

Step 4 Please share your fantastic postcards with us! You may need to ask an adult to help you with this. Take a photograph of the front of the postcard, and share this with us, letting know your name, age, and who you are sending a card to and why. All entries will be made into a special film at the end of June that you can see on the Idea Store website. Please send the photos of your postcards to [email protected]
