Launching on 1 June, World Children’s Day, SPINE Festival 2021 explores EMPATHY with children, young people and families in sixteen London boroughs. This year features spoken word and arts activities delivered by local artists in each borough, a series of engaging school workshops and imaginative digital events by SPINE’s 14 Artists in Residence in fourteen boroughs, and our six week ESOL Open House programme in two boroughs.

In partnership with Half Moon, we co-commissioned poets Henry Madd and Kirk-Ann Roberts to create a theatre show exploring SPINE 2021’s festival theme of Empathy for 7 – 11 year olds. The result was ‘The CAT-Astrophic Adventures of Dollop and Crinkle’ and will be toured both digitally and physically across sixteen London boroughs.
